Superior Province: A billion year record of Archean craton evolution and the birth of plate tectonic processes” represents the work presented by GAC Howard Street Robinson Lecturer John Percival during his nationwide tour in 2003.
Employed since 1981 with the Geological Survey of Canada, Percival has led mapping projects throughout the Superior Province of Manitoba, Ontario and Quebec, co-led the Kapuskasing uplift Lithoprobe transect and serves as chair of the Pan-Lithoprobe synthesis committee. His primary research focuses on the tectonic evolution of the Superior Province, through field and laboratory studies of structural geology, igneous and metamorphic petrology, geochemistry and geochronology.
In 2003 John Percival was the GAC Howard Street Robinson Distinguished Lecturer. His popular presentations formed the basis of this CD.
