About
The Pacific Section (GAC-PAC) is a section of the Geological Association of Canada (GAC). The main objective of the GAC-PAC is to foster and promote geoscience in the Pacific Region of Canada. Activities may include, but are not limited to:

- Sponsor and support the annual British Columbia Geological Survey Open House
- Help organize and sponsor social and outreach events throughout the year (e.g. PAC Bonspiel, UVIC student events, field trips, community outreach, Earthbound talks)
GAC-PAC – University of Victoria (SEOS) Student Scholarship – $1000
It has been awarded annually since 1995 to an SEOS undergraduate student who is nominated by an SEOS faculty committee. Since 2017, the Pacific Section approved contributing an additional $500, making the entire award amount $1000.
